Your body can combine proteins from different meals eaten at different times. So just make the soup without the sausage, or add another easy-to-digest bean like garbanzo. And you could always just serve a cheese and veggie sandwich on the side-- more protein and all those vitamins/minerals from the veggies. I always like a sandwich with soup. -==--=-= om=-=-=-Nick

I've purchased it at health food stores, Whole Foods, and Safeway (the stores with a " health foods " section). Laurie
Guest guest
When I make black bean soup i use onions, garlic, cumin and chili powder..diced tomatos and green chilis, along with corn and some sliced zuchinni. i use vegitable broth and red wine also. I make a salsa to kick it up...and some tortillas, blue corn ones really are nice....i also use black beans sometimes instead of garbanzo beans to make hummus!!! I do not know who invited me to this group, but i want to thank you!! This is terrific. I wish you all a wonderful new year...in hebrew we say...chag sameach!!!!
