Guest guest
this is a constant fare of mine go to a chinese market ( be adventuresome ) select some greens you never had before cut them in bite size pieces place in a bowl steam until just done - over steaming ruins them - fare better to little then too much - LOL when done serve with the juice of a fresh lemon or lime variations are endless before steaming minced ginger and or garlic or whatever instead of Lemon Lime juice mix any or all of the following soy sauce, water, vinegar, sugar, chilies, chili sauces, hot oil, dark seasame oil, veg. oyster sauce, etc. I'm not much for Recipes yet I love reading them and fiddling with them Juliet Child said over and over " the ingredients never read the recipe, so be creative and flexible " I find Indian, Chinese and other ethic stores a treasure trove In Indian stores you will find saffron very affordable - do not ever buy spices at a chain store - always choose Indian markets - the freshness and prices are unbelievable Love John
Guest guest
That is a great tip about the spices. In good health food stores too, you can buy them fresh in bulk. Fresh spices and herbs do make a world of difference don't they?
