I shall file all the responses carefully and then see what we have come up with as a group. Anyone else? Best, Pat greenfury2004
Guest guest
I like most of the chit chat regarding recipes cuz you lean about them/the ingredients. I think a poll would be a good idea. How to get people to TAKE the poll??? What would YOU personally prefer? And should we have a poll about it? Think about it, send in your feelings about it, etc.! Much appreciated! How to get people to TAKE the poll??? Ah yes, how to do *that*! LOL Well, maybe we won't need to. It depends on what responses I get to this query ;=) If no responses, I assume no one gives a tinker's and then I can just - what? - fold my tent and steal away into the night???? Ahhhhh, possibilities! LOL Best love, Pat ;=)

Guest guest
I don't post but I enjoy reading the chat that goes on because I'm on a learning curve and consider all the emails to be intrinsic to a full dose of what I consider this list to be - I wouldn't change anything. Each of these is a community that grows and stretches and collapses from time to time - the main focus of this group is spicy vegetarian recipes which the moderators have done a spot on job of keeping us talking about - we certainly haven't seen ANY spam type posts about anything on this group have we? So I think that as a community we SHOULD be able to have a few off topic posts that relate to the community's interests. Anyone who feels strongly against that has the option of going to no mail and reading the posts on line and picking and choosing the posts they read. has fabulously given us that option - or they can set themselves up for daily digest and only get one email for every 25 we send out. That's what I think - even though I don't post any recipes or off topic posts - I just read them! Guest guest
The only thing that I'd personally suggest (just because it can open up a whole can of flaming worms) is that the list focuses more on the recipies and cooking than the whole animal rights thing...I know for a lot of people that it's a huge issue, *however* not everyone s to that point of view and, as I said, it can cause a lot more trouble than it's worth...and thanks Pat and the other Moderators for keeping the list calm on that one.... Anyway, just my 10 cents (inflation, ya know!)... Gina
Guest guest
I don't post much neither, but I like the chatter and the recipes. Guest guest
More discussions and recipes - less " admin " messages - would be my vote. I would feel more comfortable if the group kinda ran itself more ON the board. You moderators have already done a fabulous job behind the scenes in deterring spam, filing recipes and such. Some of the " admin " messages (not all, obviously) and frivolous guidelines, IMHO, are a bit overboard for the amount of posters that we currently have. So, basically I think the group is great whether it stays with the multi topic format or goes to a recipe only type of thing - I just feel it could be a bit more casual and relaxing. Before the flaming arrives and folks get defensive, LOL, this is just my " opinion " and merely a " suggestion " (that was asked of us). Noone need side " with " or " against " me (or even reply for that matter). I know that I can at any time (and all of that nonsense . However, I won't because I like knowing that I have a source for recipes that will make me sweat, tear up, cough, make my face turn beet (beetroot) red and quite frankly get a buzz off of! LOL! As a final note, I think this group is great and the moderators have done an outstanding job (it aint all fun and games as you very well know). Guest guest
I agree. Fine just the way it is. I'd personally hate it if I felt as though I couldn't post something other than recipes. If all I was interested in was *only* recipes, I wouldn't need to belong to a " discussion " group such as this. Can find all the recipes I need zillions of other places on the web... Guest guest
I agree with the majority of the responses I have seen. I like the group the way it is, with lots of recipes and discussion of ingredients. Although I do find recipes by searching the web, I appreciate getting recipes people can recommend (even though I sometimes post recipes I have on file and haven't tried yet! ;-] ) I am on too many lists with general discussions about vegetarianism, raw food, veganism, and AR to want this to be like the other groups. As one person so wisely said, a few off topic posts should be tolerated, but what seems to be the purpose should remain intact - sharing of spicy vegetarian recipes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ from Maida Please sign my petition: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/738171316

Guest guest
Hi, Personally, I like the list the way it is. That's my vote. Up to you if you want to have a poll. However, as previously pointed out, getting a significant number of people to answer the poll is not an easy task. Guest guest
hi... i've been busy, and just now reply to this... i'd rather see it be all inclusive about recipes, and would like to see no polical posts, as i have been barred from posting anything political. there will always be things happening in the world that we care about and want to talk about, but as pat pointed out to me, there are other places to post those concerns. so, i vote that this group be strictly about sharing recipes, including where to get ingredients, or how to substitute ingredients. talk of family members being sneaky, might border on politics... josh - veggiefilmmaker , " greenfury2004 " <greenfury2004> wrote: > > > Is it time to change this list a bit? Only if your Dad's name is Paul Martin, Tony Blair, or George Bush - or yer ma is Maggie Thatcher or . . . . I'll review all responses to this query today and tomorrow. Best I can do, Pat ;=)
