Guest guest
I realize I have been remiss in not responding to the last message from Lynn - spotteddog. In particular the following catches my attention: > By the way, I'm the one who started the whole thread, not at all as a > criticism, but as a request for the group to help me learn since I am > not, at least for now, a vegetarian, just someone who wants to learn > more about the lifestyle. I thought the mock meat discussion was a great one - not one that anyone could take as a criticism of anything. And I am pleased that you started the thread. I guess I'd have to add this: sometimes, just sometimes, some of us who no longer eat me*t have a sudden wave of longing for something. It's not necessarily for the thing we think it is - it's more, as John has said - a sort of happy memory thing, or (to speak of my own case) a kind of knee-jerk reaction to certain stimuli (much as ex-smokers or ex-drinkers have). Mock meat comes in useful in those cases, I'm told. It harms no body. Best, Pat Dr Patricia M.
