Guest guest
Thanks for the update - another person with a busy summer! You say: >I've been a bad veggie girl lately, but you know, when you go for tapas and see grilled calamari, well....calamari is a weakness, you know... Truly baaaaad veggie girl! Living creatures are not appropriate foods for vegetarians (or anyone else for that matter). Personally, since you bring it up, I think you should think of two things when you are tempted to eat your fellow creatures: one is your health. Waterlife is bad for you because of the pollution. The second thing is much more important to me - the concern for the creatures themselves. it is most inappropriate that these animals should be consumed by fellow beings who know full well how to feed themselves without turning to near-canibalism. LOL Okay, did that do the trick? Did that swat you over the back with limp bokchoy or soggy noodles? Baaaad veggie girl, I say- don't do it again! About the organic foods - wonderful when you can get them easily - and of course we are talking vegetarian foods now, right? Even our local supermarket sells them now, as well as a couple of places at the (covered) market and several stalls on the twice-weekly farmers' market. I got some lovely fresh organic edamame on Saturday! Whoooooooooiiiiiieeee! > since I'm going back to the east coast for a week for my dad's surprise > bbq (where I'm the biggest surprise!) Have a lovely trip, happy birthday to your dad, and *be strong* at that bbq. Best, Pat

Well...the second argument not so much as the first (my health)...I know I feel loads better when I'm going full veggie than when I'm not. More energy, less gastro-intestinal issues (like acid reflux), etc...and we all know how I feel about the second argument, so I'll leave it at that...*grin* although, I would *never* have soggy noodles...I'm genetically italian, and soggy noodles would be an insult to my hertitage! > About the organic foods - wonderful when you can get them easily - and of > course we are talking vegetarian foods now, right? Whoooooooooiiiiiieeee! yup...I've been trying to get to the local market on Saturdays, but, well...like I said, I've been lazy...so this would be a really cool service for me because I'm busy...although, I think when I move, it'll be easier for me to cook and keep track of what I'm eating...my roommates are nice and all, but they tend to either eat my food or my food gets pushed to the back of the fridge (they buy a lot more than I do)...there are reasons why I stopped living with other people... > > since I'm going back to the east coast for a week for my dad's surprise > > bbq (where I'm the biggest surprise!) > > Have a lovely trip, happy birthday to your dad, and *be strong* at that bbq. Oh, I will...I'm looking forward to New England corn anyway, and no one will blink twice if I fill myself up on it... Besides, my mom makes a killer potato salad! It's going to be wierd going back there though....here and there are just really different places, you know? Gina
