Guest guest
Dessert is not off topic, even if you don't incorporate spicy peppers into it. Gotta have a creamy nondairy dessert after that spicy Thai noodle dish! Anyway, since we're talking about good blueberries, we could be in part referring to the spicy blueberry sauce recipe in my post, in which good blueberries and jalapenios go together in a main course. When I used " good " in my post, I should have explained what I meant. I mean good flavored, not relatively bland. Oregon strawberries are some of the best flavored in the world, but they're not as readily available as the relatively bland California strawberries, even in Oregon. Organic berries tend to be better flavored than nonorganic. Blueberries can be plumped up with extra watering, but they then have less flavor for their total volume, so wild or semi-wild blueberries, or huckleberries, are going to be better flavored. I'm sometimes disappointed with the results I get with these blander berries, and I'd often rather go without them than to pay good money on something that will be disappointing. Finding those good tasting berries can take some exploration, even in a berry abundant place like here in Ashland, Oregon... , " Maidawg " <maidawg@c...> wrote: > (We should keep labeling this conversation string as OT!) > > Anyhow, a good source of frozen blueberries is to take fresh > blueberries, rinse and dry them, removing any stems and squished > berries.
