Maybe OT: Asafoetida

I have found out what it is but I don't know anyone who has used it.

I'm still trying to find it in Buffalo, NY so I can see it up close

and in person. :-)

 

If anyone has any experience with this spice, would they mind sharing?

I put this as possibly OT since I don't know if it's a spicy spice or

mild/mellow spice. It is mainly used in Indian cooking and we've run

across a couple recipes calling for it.
