Guest guest
Hi all, I just got a cookbook from the library that was recommended here recently. (Authentic Chinese Cuisine) The book is awesome and I will be Ebaying later to see if I can find it. :-) In the book, the author mentions " batter fried walnuts " . Definitely has my curiosity up and I would love to try these. I have looked online and have not been able to find a recipe for it. Does anyone have a recipe for these? Thanks Tami *//*
Guest guest
Okay, I googled and came up with one Chinese recipe that seems to fit the bill. I'ts on the following site, but I must warn purists that another recipe on the same site calls for ch*cken :=( The walnuts are battered and are done in sweet and sour sauce, Cantonese style. http://www.sptimes.com/News/012401/Taste/You_asked_for_it.shtml The recipe also gives an excellent sweet and sour sauce for the battered walnuts after frying. I have not, however, tried it. If you try it, please please let us know??? It's not hot and spicy but it would make a lovely accompaniment to other dishes! Best, Pat
