" Plantain Chips " (platanos fritos) vegetable oil 4 plantains cut into thin slices 1/4-inch (for chips they should be slightly speckled) 1 tablespoon chili powder 1/2 teaspoon salt Heat oil 1-inch deep to 350 degrees. Fry plantains in hot oil until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Drain on paper towels, toss with chili powder and salt. Makes about 3 cups of chips. Note: I make mine on the side and use garlic powder and a teeny touch orf chili powder because I'm scared................LOL " Secretly, I wanted to look like Jimi Hendrix, but I could never quite pull it off.
