Guest guest
Hello, friends living with ibs too. I recently started having miso soup ( or just the broth) with every meal ( and in between when the acid reflux is bad) there was immediate improvement in upper digestive problems and after a couple of weeks the ibs is sooooo much better. here is the site where I first learned about the health benefits of miso: http://www.southrivermiso.com/aboutmiso/whatis.html found the same info elsewhere but this is the best summary. don't know if it would help any of you with ibs but thought I should share my experience + maybe the info will help someone else. peace, Angela who I am is fine, it's just this body that's disabled! middle age = that time of life when we realize yesterday's sex, drugs and rock and roll are todays memories, prescriptions and golden oldies! Your welcome, it was posted on another group I'm in, 2 weeks of daily miso + i had to look up who posted it to thank her it helped me so much! Don't know anything about different types of ibs. mine apparently is part of fibromyalgia. this body has a whole alphabet of 'learn to live with ems'- booooooring. ( stating facts, not whining) anyone watching salt consumption ( me) should use the reduced salt, what i have now is regular- the white miso isn't as salty but the red sure is- next purchase will be low salt - for now i'm getting extra potassium ( bananas and dried apricots) to help balance out the salt and 10 - 12, or more, 8 oz glasses of water a day instead of my usual 8-10! BP's not going up so must be gettin' it right LOL peace and happy new year, angela who I am is fine, it's just this body that's disabled! middle age = that time of life when we realize yesterday's sex, drugs and rock and roll are todays memories, prescriptions and golden oldies! for Good - Make a difference this year. Guest guest
Mine is IBS-C, so veggies are my friend. Fried foods, meat, and dairy, alas, are not. Guest guest
I'm so sorry for those with IBS - had a friend with that once, and she had such a miserable time of it :-( I checked groups and found there were a number of groups for IBS. Perhaps you can find one there that will help - because I'm afraid it is way outside our brief on Vegetarian Spice. Best of luck, all of you, with this very difficult disease. love, pat
Guest guest
Thanks Angela. Must give the Miso a try as I hear it also has a lot of natural Vit B12. By the way a terrific IBS site I found is www.helpforibs.com . Has excellent info and forum...and where we should post our IBS problems or we will put others off their food here and its a very attractive site too. I am lucky that spicy food doesn't give me any problems but that is probably due to the relief ginger and tumeric appear to give. Luv my curries as long as they are very spicy and not too hot Thanks everyone for the terrific recipes I have copied and pasted most of them. Now I have retired I will have the time to enjoy cooking. Will post any interesting recipes I come across and enjoy. Regards Jackie

Best love, Pat
