Guest guest
This is very much like the taco seasoning mix i use and is in our files here. Check it out *s*: Taco Seasoning 2 tsp instant minced onion 1/2 tsp salt (more if you prefer) 1 tsp chili powder 1/2 tsp cornstarch 1/2 tsp crushed dried red pepper 1/2 tsp instant (dry kind) minced garlic 1/4 tsp dried oregano 1/2 tsp ground cumin Mix this all together and store in packets for up to 6 months in a cool dry place. Use as you would store-bought taco seasoning. Brown your TVP, add taco seasoning and 1/2 cup water and heat while stirring. When it thickens to how you like it, eat. i love to make my own over the store brands; way less expensive and more fresh tasting. Thanks for sharing your recipe, Donna. ~ pt ~ Realize yourself as the ocean of consciousness in which all happens.Ê This is not difficult.Ê A little attentiveness or close observation of yourself and you will see that no event is outside your consciousness. ~ Nisargadatta Maharaj ~~~~*~~~*~~~~> , purplepassion < thelilacflower> wrote: > > This is perfect when reconstituting TVP, for beans, chili, stews and southwestern soups. > > Taco Seasoning Mix > > 1/2 cup onion flakes > 3 tablespoons ground cumin > 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder > 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper > 1/2 teaspoon garlic flakes > > Place all ingredients in a 1-pint jar, cover tightly, > and shake well to mix.
