Guest guest
Not really a new recipe, but a note for those interested. A little while ago I posted a Beans in Brown Sugar recipe, which used soybeans, brown sugar, wakame. Around a week ago I was looking at some cooked black beans and decided to do something with them - and seeing that recipe, did the following: Chillied Black Beans and Molasses with Shredded Nori (Vegan) 2 Tbsp dried shredded nori, soaked and cut into small pieces 1 Tbsp (or as little as you can get away with) canola oil 1 Tbsp grated ginger 1 small carrot, grated half a yellow onion, chopped 2 cups turtle beans/black beans, cooked and drained 2 Tbsp blackstrap molasses 1 tsp sea salt 1 green chilli, finely chopped (more if you like) a little water as needed to simmer the above 1 tsp dark sesame oil to be added at the end of cooking A couple of handfuls of chopped coriander leaves/cilantro to heap on the beans to serve The method remained the same, sauteeing the vegetables, adding the beans, stirring, blah blah blah, simmering until blended and a mass of lovely beans. It tasted of course *totally* different to the previous recipe - yet little was changed except to add more ginger, change the beans, use a different sweetener, etc. I made a note of what I'd changed because this is the way we're going to do them from now on :-) Lovely. Just a note, that's all. love, Pat
