Guest guest
I'm on a campaign to change some almost vegan recipes. . What's the best thing to use when a recipe calls for raw eggs? I assume egg adds a bit of binding so what is a good thing to put in its place? There are of course commercial products out there that are vegan and can sub for eggs, but please please please look in our Files section - in the folder called Faux Foods - %2A%20FAUX%20FOODS%20%28To%20help%20build%20those%20spicy%20dishes%29/ There you will find directions for Flax Eggs. Take it seriously, because it really really works! Best of luck - Pat
Guest guest
Hi there! I don't like raining on anyone's parade (Sheeeeesh but it really annoys me when someone does it to me! Ya know? LOL) but Egg Beaters aren't vegan - they are made with eggwhites. Bind they will, and you'll avoid the cholesterol, but you won't be eating 'vegan'. Go to our Files on our Homepage and you'll find a whole folder of Faux Foods. Flax Eggs are there as one option. Best of luck - and thanks for writing in. Egg Beaters are indeed excellent for vegetarians - just not for vegans, and that's what our member was asking about. Best love, Pat > Try using egg beaters or simular product. > > Wendy Jeffries <salt@l...> wrote: I'm on a campaign to change some almost vegan recipes. . > > What's the best thing to use when a recipe calls for raw eggs? Guest guest
Wendy- When baking breads, cakes, desserts, etc. I use applesauce. Makes for a nice heavy bread. Try it! I eat eggs but when making sweet breads I replace the eggs for applesauce. , " Judy " <jbmalys@h...> wrote: > > Hi Wendy, > I use EnerG Egg Replacer in baking and it works quite well. > Judy > , " Wendy Jeffries " salt@l... > wrote: > > > > I'm on a campaign to change some almost vegan recipes. . > > > > What's the best thing to use when a recipe calls for raw eggs?
