Guest guest
> I am not diabetic, but i would like to share all of you my sister in law's case that may inspire all those who are diabetics to stick on being a vegetarian.I am a midwife but . . .. . . That's quite a story! I'm glad it worked out okay, but I'd be sadly remiss if I didn't add that it's not usually considered to be a good thing to take anyone off their prescribed medications without medical supervision. So your story should be accompanied by the rider 'Don't try this at home, folks'. You know? I am of the opinion that no prescribed medication should be withdrawn without the physician's knowledge of it and the physician's monitoring of it. This is regardless of whether it is one's own medication one is dealing with or another's - although another's is very doubtful indeed. I am a strong proponent of the healthiness of a vegetarian diet, especially a vegan diet. And I do believe that many conditions can be aided, halted or even reversed by adopting such a diet, perhaps even more of them prevented in the first place. There's a lot of evidence to that effect, and I'm not about to argue it. Nevertheless, it is not a 'magic bullet' - no diet that I have ever heard of is that. And no, I'm not a physician; I have no axe to grind here. Best, Pat
