Just to avoid undue confusion, here are a few things for us all to remember . .

.. .

POSTING RECIPES TO VEGETARIAN SPICE GROUP

Would you please help us out by making sure that you have noted (and followed)

the

following guidelines (this is an expanded form of the note under Recipes in the

Rules

previously sent):

1. Please post only `tried and true' recipes - those which you have personally

made and

found to be workable as well as good.

2. Put `Recipe' in the subject line of your e-mail together with the *name* of

your recipe.

3. Indicate after the title of each recipe whether it is vegan, ovo, ovo-lacto,

or lacto. eg.

Recipe: Red Beans With Rice (Vegan) and, if possible, let the name also reflect

the original

nationality of the dish.

4. Edit very carefully to remove all mention of meats, meat stock, gelatine,

etc., in all your

recipe. Vegan recipes should also be free of eggs, dairy and honey.

5. If you are using a meat substitute/ fake meat item (e.g. `bacn bits' or

whatever) please

make clear that it is a `fake' me*t - not everyone recognizes all brands of

soy/seitan deli-

style faux me*ts.

6. Include, if you wish, vegan substitutes for honey, ovo or lacto items if you

have tried

them and find they work in the recipe.

7, List ALL ingredients used, together with measurements used in the recipe *as

you made

it* plus temperatures and timing for cooking/baking.

8. Make sure that the recipe your recipe is *suitable* for this group.

Vegetarian Spice has

as its theme `hot and spicy' vegetarian dishes. OT recipes (those that don't

follow this

theme) will not be placed in the Recipes files in our Files section.

9. Post only *one* recipe per e-mail.

10. A Final Note: A moderator may contact you to inquire about the recipe prior

to its

being placed in the Files section - this contact person for the Vegetarian Spice

group is

Maida aka maidawg.

Many many thanks to you all.

Pat - Owner, Vegetarian Spice
