Guest guest
Welcome to the list, but I'm afraid I have to disagree wildly with your below statement. i think to myself every time I shop how much cheaper it is once you start eating healthy food and give up buying processed stuff. if you're talking about picking up ready made health stuff that has been made and sold in supermarkets with the word healthy stamped on it, then, yes, they charge a fortune because it's trendy food and prays on peoples conciences, so they can stick a high price on it. if you buy dried beans, grains spices etc in bulk you save an absolute fortune. For example. last week I bought 10 kg steel cut oats. this will make over a years worth of breakfasts and works out at almost exactly 4 pence per breakfast. I bought 5 kg of red lentils that cost £4.20, how many meals will that make? Hundreds! if you put the effort in and cook from bulk buys, you won't believe how cheap it is to eat healthy. i agree that health food shops and big shops rip people off with their " healthy " stuff, but there's nothing as healthy as making it yourself, then you know what exactly goes in it. Guest guest
I think it's very inexpensive being vegetarian compared to the money I used to spend on meat and seafood. Do you buy bulk?
