Melinda, there are groups working on a plan to get foods that are

labeled to show whether they are vegan or vegetarian. Vegan Action

http://www.veganaction.org/ - has certified vegan logo. See also

http://www.rawdc.org/food/veglogo.html to see some vegetarian and vegan

logos that are in use.

 

Some food companies that carry lines of vegetarian foods do mark on the

product labels, but companies like Kraft don't care. Maybe everyone on

this list should write to Kraft and ask for clear labeling for

vegetarians.

 

I don't even know the source of this information, but I have this list
