Guest guest
Hi there, I was looking at your statement on this matter: > This is a recipe to have when you have a cold or flu. You NEED to milk to protect your mucuous membranes. [emphasis mine] I'm looking at the word 'need' used in conjunction with milk. There are some of course who would quite definitely disagree :-) And for some, it would definitely be a no-no for health reasons - not to mention the ethical reasons others may have. There is considerable evidence that milk is *not* needed by or beneficial to adults. That will always, of course, be a personal choice. Checking your questionnaire I am interested to see that you teach yoga, as do some other members of this list ;-) I suppose this is why you use 'Guru Khalsa' in your name? You have also told us you believe in Ayurvedic practices for health and nutrition. Do you also have medical qualifications to support your health tips? I am asking this in response to off list mail . . . Best, Pat
Guest guest
Pat, I am not a Guru. My name si GuruBandhu whic h means servanht of the Guru. It is not a title=. Thsi isa na aancient yogic recipe. I am just the messenger. In yoga, ayurveda and life we are looking for balance. If one just takes all those jalepenos without milk o r any other buffering substance then it burns the mucuous membranes. If someone doesn't want to ttake this with milk then they don't have to. I do have a friend who is an Ayurvedic doctor and I will ask him for a more " authoritative " answer. Sorry if I offended anyone but you asked for pepper recipes and I sent you one. I see! :-) Then I'm glad I asked - it's so easy for those of us not in the know to make errors over this kind of thing. Apologies. So what DO we call you? I see on another list you are always called Guru - which is why I asked, in part. >Thsi isa na aancient yogic recipe. I am just the messenger. In yoga, ayurveda and life we are looking for balance. I understand that there is that philosophy. > If one just takes all those jalepenos without milk o r any other buffering substance then it burns the mucuous membranes. I'd say!!! Oh I quite understand why one would want jalapenos with another substance if one has inflammation of the mucous membranes. > I do have a friend who is an Ayurvedic doctor and I will ask him for a more " authoritative " answer. No need at all - this is not a health list and we are already quite a bit off topic here :-) I was just asking, since I had been asked privately, about your qualificatiions. As for the philosophical/spiritual/religious theories behind your way of life, I have to say that we don't discuss those on this list - there are other places to do that, of course, but it does tend to cause problems when discussed on a recipe list. And this is the reason why I am not inquiring further, as interesting as I am sure it would be. >Sorry if I offended anyone but you asked for pepper recipes and I sent you one. You offended no one that I know of - but have puzzled some. No problem - makes you interesting, eh? LOL And thanks for the recipes sent! And now that's all cleared up, I hope, and everyone's happy ;-) Thanks for your patience. I'll look forward to seeing more of you on the list. Best love, Pat
