Susan B said, " First stick on non fatty vegie food, avoid much use of

pepper, drink cabbage or potato juice and in the morning on empty stomach

drink lemon juice with lukewarm water well my acid reflux is totally

gone now after 18 yrs of taking antacids and other pain relievers. This

is just a suggestion,as i have proven it effective, but what am sure is

being on vegetarian food helps me a lot, real healthy. "

I agree about avoiding fatty foods. Black pepper - BAD, red pepper

(like cayenne) - GOOD. The lemon juice in water is like the cider

vinegar in water I mentioned. I have never tried potato juice, but I

will often have a baked potato with cayenne or hot sauce for breakfast

and it helps! My ex-mother-in-law used to say that sourkraut is good

for digestive problems. I agree. That has helped me, too.

Another thing I forgot to mention is taking pro-biotics. I sometimes

take them in pill form, but I also eat yogurt (soy yogurt for me as a

vegan). Also - papaya juice is good for gas. Down here in Florida,

where fresh papaya is plentiful, I like to have cut up papaya with

yogurt.

I think that adding fruit, especially acidic fruit, is beneficial - just

the opposite of what seems intuitive if you have acid problems. I used

to avoid adding lemon to water. Not any more.
