1. What is your name or nickname on this list? - Marie

 

 

2. Which part of the world do you like to call home? - Haarlem, Netherlands

(originally from Australia but I have lived in Holland since 1998)

 

3. Are you vegetarian (or vegan), still making the transition or thinking

about it? -ovo-lacto vegetarian for 25+ years, but trying a few more vegan

meals now

 

4. How did you find our group? - Pat posted information about the group on

Vegetarian Slimming

Okay - NOW to the important stuff:

 

5. Dogs or cats? I love both but we have only a cat. Dutch houses are tiny

and we don't think it would be fair on a dog to keep it in such cramped

conditions.

 

6. Coffee or tea? Tea, tea, tea and more tea for me please

 

7. Homebody or travel fiend? I love travelling to visit friends but I'm not

so much of a sightseeing person. I also love being at home and never seem

to run out of things to do at home. The word 'boredom' doesn't really

belong in my dictionary.

 

8. Astrological Sign? Capricorn

 

9. Chinese Zodiak Sign/Animal? Sorry, I don't know

 

10. Favourite colour? Bright yellow

 

11. Pet Peeve? Thoughtless people who seem to care about only themselves.

(On a slightly less serious note, I also hate hearing people cracking their

knuckles).

 

12. Anything else you would like to tell us? I'm thrilled to be here. I

love spicy food (especially Indian and Mexican) so I guess I will get to

'meet' a few more like minded folk.

 

I was recently made redundant and, at the age of 60, job prospects aren't

great. I don't qualify for unemployment benefits for various boring

administrative reasons so I'm learning to cope with the challenge of

managing on just my husband's very modest income. It's amazing what you can

do when you have to.
