Guest guest
Hi Cindi here in Davis, CA. Vegetarian, not vegan. Love spicy Mexican & Thai dishes. Actually anything with a kick is good in my book. Have to be careful/considerate of my partner at times though as her heat-tolerance is much lower than mine. It works out though. " I am on cholesterol medication, even though I am vegan. Once in a blue moon I will have egg beaters out or a vegetarian dessert, but I am 99% vegan, and I avoid all animal products most of the time. So how could I have high cholesterol? I am overweight, I don't exercise enough, and I have a family history of heart problems. One of the TV ads for cholesterol meds talks about the two sources of cholesterol: what you eat and what you get from your family (genes). ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ from Maida Citizens for Pets in Condos, Inc. www.petsincondos.org - a Florida non-profit corporation South Florida Vegetarian Events www.soflavegevents.net Discovery Toys Educational Consultant <http://www.discoverytoyslink.com/GrandmaM> http://www.discoverytoyslink.com/GrandmaM <http://www.vistaprint.com/vp/gateway.aspx?S=5176697856>

I put on 40 pounds when I quit smoking five years ago, so I need to lose that too... I just hate the outrageous amount of profit the drug companies make that I figured their ad for statin drug use for inherited cholesterol problems was another one of their ploys to sell an expensive product. Like Zoloft being advertised as a cure for your child's shyness until kids starting committing suicide on the stuff... \Jillian\ My Blog! _http://jillmarsh.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_jillmarsh_archive.html_ (http://jillmarsh.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_jillmarsh_archive.html)

Guest guest
James, you are missing the point. You can have high cholesterol even if you don't consume any cholesterol. There are other factors involved. I am vegan, with very occasional minor lapses. I eat no meat at all. I very rarely have dairy ingredients - maybe a dessert once every few months, but I still have high cholesterol. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ from Maida Citizens for Pets in Condos, Inc. www.petsincondos.org - a Florida non-profit corporation South Florida Vegetarian Events www.soflavegevents.net Discovery Toys Educational Consultant <http://www.discoverytoyslink.com/GrandmaM> http://www.discoverytoyslink.com/GrandmaM <http://www.vistaprint.com/vp/gateway.aspx?S=5176697856>
Guest guest
Au contraire. You seem to be avoiding the point--it's metabolism, which is improved by exercise. Walk around the block once a day. Or keep taking drugs. No fat on my hips either way. On Nov 11, 2006, at 12:59 PM, Maida W Genser wrote: > James, you are missing the point.
