Guest guest
Many busy people don't have much time for breakfast, but, when you do, what's your fave? Is it something you cook, take out, or eat out? Or is it something you always have in at home as a convenience food? So - What's your favourite breakfast? Guest guest
For quick breakfast we make up a huge vat of slow cooked porridge filled with apples, dates and any other dried fruit that's around and liberally seasoned with any or all of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger or cardamom. Then it goes into a large container in the fridge where it's portioned out, reheated and served every morning with sliced banana, raisins, nuts (walnuts or almonds) and soya beverage. For a leisurely breakfast I'll make up some kind of a tofu scramble with whatever is around. It will always have onions, garlic, some kind of heat (from a chilli sauce or real chillies... I have an " arsenal " of sauces, curry etc.) and a mixture of other vegetables served with some kind of good bread... multigrain ciabatti, Portuguese corn bread, naan, pita etc. Cheers, Craig, www.craigtompkins.singingteacher.net - Pat Tuesday, January 30, 2007 11:43 AM QUERY: What's Your Favourite Breakfast? Guest guest
I lied. My very favorite breakfast is a big apple pancake cooked in a cast iron pan. A local restaurant makes an unbelievable version. Guest guest
I never miss breakfast! However, my favorite breakfast is a dinner-y sort of meal like black bean tacos or something like that. Since I'm not a morning person, I usually end up eating leftovers from earlier dinners. For example, this morning, I ate spicy dahl with sweet potato and cabbage. I also like to make fruit smoothies with frozen berries or cherries, banana, flaxmeal and soymilk. Guest guest
Breakfast, my favourite meal! For me it's a variant of the traditional English breakfast and almost invariable expect when travelling etc. Half grapefruit, porridge or self-made muesli (alternate days), two slices of wholemeal toast with Marmite, tea (minor change recently to green or white tea). Off to prepare it now! Piers

Guest guest
Quickly responding to my own query before I've read all your nice answers, I'd say: I don't do a proper breakfast - and I know I should. It's an important meal, etc. I used to skip it completely. Now I have coffee and a slice of my homemade sourdough bread with a scrape of Marmite (yes yes, I know - I'm like that!) followed by a piece of fruit. BUT my very fave is my banana bread and a soy latte (and fruit) OR coffee and oatmeal with a sliced banana. Sheeeesh, no wonder I'm looking for ideas - it's a habit of years, I guess. Now and then I make miso soup - but my eyes aren't usually open enough for that early in the morning. LOL When away from home, breakfast tends to be very plain indeed Any more? Guest guest
When we actually have breakfast lately, it's usually a fried egg with some soy bacon on a piece of bread with a pinch of parmesan on top. Sometimes just coffee. One thing we made for dinner that was so yummy was a corn, basial & smoked mozarella omelet! I hope to make it again soon for a nice filling breakfast. http://cookingwithluinda.blogspot.com/2006/11/corn-omelet-with-smoked-mozzarella\ -and.html Cindi See what we've been cookin'! http://cookingwithluinda.blogspot.com/
Guest guest
Wow, I've been reading through all your answers - and there are some really good ideas here! Maybe we should make a collection of Breakfast menus - just to give newbies an idea what we eat, eh? If anyone has more ideas - even if you've already written in - let us know. And if there are some special Budget Breakfasts, that would be good. Or Quick and Easy Breakfasts. Or, well, any kind - including Company Breakfasts/Brunches (do you ever do that? We used to do it a lot.). Or Breakfasts on the Run. Okay, over to you guys, again! Best, Pat
