Guest guest
Just a quick query: Do you have a favourite spice or herb (excluding salt and pepper and garlic ) - one that you like to put in many of your recipes? What is it? Is there a close runner-up?? What? And what's your favourite dish to use it/them? Love, Pat
Guest guest
To answer this for myself, I'd have to say cayenne or crushed chiles (cuz I like the heat) and because that's practically equal to pepper and salt in our house, I'd put turmeric a close second (can I have a third? Coriander.) Among the herbs (the leafy bits rather than seedy bits), I'd say oregano and then basil. Interestingly, my dh (who cooks equally with me in the household), also said cayenne but put cummin as his close second. Among the herbs, he said thyme. Hmmmmm. Food for thought. The truth is that I can't manage without an array of spices LOL Love, Pat , " Pat " <drpatsant wrote: > > Just a quick query: Do you have a favourite spice or herb (excluding salt and pepper and > garlic ) - one that you like to put in many of your recipes? Guest guest
I love any kind of fresh herb. Can't do without parsley and basil. I love the strong tasting ones such as rosemary, thyme, and winter savory. I really really miss my garden, now that I live in a condo. The window box thing just doesn't do it for me.
