Guest guest
What's cooking at your house? Was stuck for ideas today, so my dh found a recipe in one of Dr Neal Barnard's books which I have out from the library - a little research goes a long way, eh? It's for a curry with chickpeas and sweet potato and goodness knows what else - I have to go and help to get it on the stove now or it won't be ready for lunch (we eat at 1 or 1:30), which is our main meal of the day. If it's good - and I don't see why not - I'll post the recipe later. How about your house? Anything going for lunch, dinner, tomorrow, whenever? Btw, my yesterday's efforts are on my blog: http://beanvegan.blogspot.com Love, Pat
Guest guest
I am roasting veggies! lots of them! 1 batch is to mix with cream cheese to make the spread that Alton Brown made a few days ago. and the other batch is to make a veggie lasagna. Guest guest
Mmmm... I've had that spread before, and it is so good. Nowadays, as a vegan, I make it with soy yogurt though. -Erin www.zenpawn.com/vegblog , Beth Renzetti <elmothree2000 wrote: > > I am roasting veggies! lots of them! 1 batch is to mix with cream cheese to make the spread that Alton Brown made a few days ago. and the other batch is to make a veggie lasagna. I can hardly wait until tomorrow night. Thank you so much............. Good - I'm glad you're trying it If you like a less tomatoey taste, go easy on the tomato sauce (add a bit at a time to see how you like it) or use, as suggested, the crushed canned tomatoes. (We love the stronger taste of tomatoes, so we decided to put the amount in that I stated.) Just a thought before you actually make the recipe - although i think I mentioned it in the recipe too LOL Y'know, that's the prob with adapting recipes to suit oneself - worrying that it might not suit everyone else!!! Guest guest
Hmmmm. How's your friend with other dairy? Before going vegan, I was always better with goat milk yoghurt and goat or sheep cheeses than I was with cow. Can hearily endorse the soygurt, though *toothy grin* Love, Pat > which is what i wil do this summer when i make it for my friend who can't have cow's dairy. >> Nowadays, as a vegan, I make it with soy yogurt though. Guest guest
i mistakenly thought it was a lactose issue but he is fine with any other dairy. which means I COULD have used romano cheese & a bunch of other stuff I can't think of now. I made dips & stuff with tofutti & nobody knew the difference. one guy (hahahahahhaaaa) every time he tasted something, I'd say, " you'll never guess the recipe! " when we got to dessert (Alton Brown's mooless chocolate pie) & I said, " you'll never guess... " he was just totally shocked & impressed. A proud, happy moment for me, lol.
