Guest guest
Today I made a variation of a Basic Kitcheree (Indian) recipe I posted some time ago. I added some garlic, ginger, carrots and peas to the recipe, made it with water not stock (because we are cutting way back on salt and hadn't made any salt-free stock) and salted at the end, made it completely fat-free and - tah-dah-dee-dum! - used kamut in place of half the rice. Wow it was a different dish! Great texture too and great flavour - and my dh is raving about it! (And I'm smiling smugly - sorry, guys, but I had to tell someone!) With its health concerns, it doesn't seem quite right for this group - or does it - but if anyone is interested, the photos and recipe are here: http://beanvegan.blogspot.com Love, Pat
