Spice Mixes!

Looking at some recent recipe offerings I'm inspired to comment. It's SO NICE

to be able

to mix your own spice mix (from a tried and true recipe) and save some in a

small glass jar

until another day. Mix one, mix several. Then labelled, lined up on your

cupboard shelves,

they are available to add to a quickly fixed meal to make it very very special.

 

Spice mixes are _everywhere_ - celebrities are putting their names to sauces,

condiments

and spice mixes and the marketing is such that we want them, buy them, try them

and

then of course use them. If we like them - well fine! But if we're not careful

(and I fall into

shocking ruts sometimes), we can end up using a favourite spice mix - or a

couple of

them - on almost everything. Tastes good? Yup. But tastes the same each time.

This is

comforting, but so nice when we have different options! (So thanks for these new

spice

mixes!)
