That is a nice gesture.

What an ideal job, making a difference for the little animals.

I respect that.

wehn i write i wouldn't call poetry just feelings.

I leave the P word to the Great Masters,

Yeats, Keats, Oscar wilde and such.

a real poem, is an exorcism

you are just a vehicle for the spirit which enters your body and

takes power

It feels like a shit, constipated. Until it is expressed.

you don't know it's shape or color until it comes out.

but a least you got it out.

Hi Anouk

I like reading poetry. One of my favourites for this time of year

follows:-

Imbolc - by Damh the Bard

As the dark, cold morning gives way to light

And the world shows its face dazzling in her nakedness

So the twigs and leaf-bare branches

Bow to the passing dance

Of old Jack Frost.

His crystal breath on the earth

And the corners of houses weep icicles of joy

But where is the Sun's warmth?

Where is life?

A small flower, delicate and pure white

Looks to the earth

As if talking to the waiting green

" Not yet " it seems to whisper

" When I fall, then you can return " .

And she nods her head

as the Lady passes by

Leaving more flowers in Her wake.

I always feel it is strange when people don't take credit for their

own creativity. Why would it be some other entity taking you over,

as though you are some vessel to be used? Own your talents, don't

credit others with them.

hee hee,

in the 90's I took an acting class at college, just for fun.

our teacher made us do all kinds of crazy things, to forget

about our self consciousness.

One of the things he told me is that I was an empty vessel

to get rid of the things inside me so that the energy

that is there in the universe can speak to me.

I guess that stuck with me,

I'm not sure if those things work but I bet they say that in

every acting class.

I think that's true about most folks being self taught. I never even

wanted to learn the guitar; it was a challenge of sorts. My son

wanted one for Christmas when he was 13 so I bought him a used one

along with a CD and book about how to teach yourself (I couldn't

afford lessons). He felt it was impossible but I insisted it could

be done. I decided to prove it by teaching myself and when he

saw " mom " could do it; he took another stab at it.

It was a very happy moment this Christmas when he opened up his

brand new Martin guitar (I always wanted to get him one). He plays

beautifully, an amazing self taught young man of 20 now. He also

plays the drums and is talking about teaching himself the banjo. I'm

so glad I showed him instead of just telling him he could do it. He

now has a hobby that brings him great joy and helps him unwind from

life.

When I write something that I feel has a spark of inspiration or a

deep meaning, I often ask myself where it came from. Funny though,

I've never asked myself that question when I've written something

retarded like the poem below that I wrote for a friend's birthday

card. I'm sure it comes from the same deep place; it just doesn't

seem like it should to me. I dunno.

Booger Birthday Cake

by *mona

I baked a booger birthday cake

And making took all night

It takes a lot of skill you know

To flick a booger right

All night a picking and a flicking

Until my nose grew sore

I soon ran out of boogers

So I used the dog's next door

His boogers aren't as sweet as mine

And have a funny taste

I think because he licks his butt

And then he licks his face

But don't let that concern ya none

As you celebrate your bash

Just be prepared for a boogery taste

With just a hint of ass

That maybe true for acting, when you need to 'becoime' someone else, but I

Hi Peter

That poem may seem sexist, but Damh has written many poems about both The Lady and The Lord, and male and female gods. There is usually a balance within Paganism. That poem has the feel of Imbolc for me, and today is Imbolc - so - happy early spring to everyone :-)

Peter had lessons in classical guitar from 7-14 years old. His teacher then

moved, and when I asked him to recommend another local teacher, he said that

Peter knew all he needed to know, and he was right. I think Peter went on

learning and building on his experience.

Jo, Dont get me wrong I was not criticising it for being sexist, I was making a statement about the society and its increasing rediculous pc bias , which is digging into nearly every tradition or belief system there is. happy imbolc to you too. jo <jo.heartwork wrote: Hi Peter That poem may seem sexist, but Damh has written many poems about both The

He also plays the drums and is talking about teaching himself the banjo. I'm so glad I showed him instead of just telling him he could do it. He now has a hobby that brings him great joy and helps him unwind from life.*mona , peter VV <swpgh01 wrote:>> I think you will find that more people teach

Thanks Louise - I think you are right - cold turkey is definitely the only

way for me

I think - and hopefully if I try and switch to mainly raw vegan food it will

help me

with the cravings! I guess following a raw vegan diet for a bit will rule

out the bar of Green and Black

chocolate I just bought though LOL !! Mind you - I'll willing to give

anything a go to get some more energy - my nails are

always weak and brittle and my hair albeit long, has been thinning slightly

on top

for the past year or so - which is odd considering I do generally eat a

relatively

healthy diet - here's hoping cutting cheese out totally and increasing the

raw food

that I at least start to feel more energised!

I've been reading the posts about cheese and addiction etc. I've

been vegan for 1 and half years now, I was gradually giving up

cheese for about 3 years beforehand, I honestly think the best thing

to do is go cold turkey on it, just stop eating it completely, it

will be hard for a few weeks but then you just won't miss it, I

don't think I could even eat it now, eugh! :) You'll feel so much

better - healthier, fitter, better skin, strong nails etc!!

There's some very good raw vegan chocolate on the market these days -

a bit pricy though.

Also it's probably a good idea to be a little skeptical about all the

hype surrounding raw diets these days. For most people increasing

their intake of raw foods is probably a good thing, but a 100% raw

diet is obsessive and of no demonstrable benefit.
