Welcome to our group, Paul It's nice to have another veggie here, and a long-term one at that. Have a look at our Files, since you like spicy food, and see what we have to offer! We'd be pleased to have your own tried and true recipes offered to us too! Enjoy the group - and post often! Though I can't help wondering what are the advantages for a vegetarian for shopping in France - IMO the UK has the best vegetarian shopping in Europe and possibly the world - everything clearly indicated as suitable (or not) for vegetarians, and lots of veggy options for basic products. Me, I'm living partly in Holland and partly in Portugal at the moment, with occasional forays into the UK, and Portugal seems particularly difficult - or perhaps I haven't found all the good places yet. Though this evening I visited a Chinese restaurant in Lagos (Algarve) with 2 pages of vegetarian items on the menu - the waiter was pleased to discover a " real " vegetarian and was interested in explaining that the vegetarian d*ck and ch*cken were all made of soya and quite safe to eat. How could I explain that I preferred vegetarian dishes that did _not_ look like the equivalent animal product? what do the others think? I guess there are arguments both ways. People who are vegetarian out of principle but still have warm memories of their carnivorous days may welcome such an imitation...
