Guest guest
Hello everyone, I'm a 71 yr old caregiver for Dad with mid stage Alzheimers but still able to live across the creek from us in his trailor. I also take care of my hubby who has Lewy Body Disease, aka, LBD. What it is, is a dementia with ALZ poor memory and judgement and Parkinsons disease with the tilted head wind gait and wild hallucinations and tremors. Meds are taming the worst symptoms somewhat at this time but the stress of caregiving and the isolation that goes with it, has put about 60 lbs on me. I am from a family that were mainly vegetarian but have been an omnivore for about 55 yrs. I'm hoping that becoming mostly vegan with the help of understanding friends sharing delicious recipes, I can get the excess wt off and get healthy again and be able to take care of my guys for as long as possible. Did I come to the right place? I retired as an LVN after 33 years about 3 years ago to better take care of my husband. We live in the N/E corner of CA.The nearest Wal Mart is about 189 miles away. It's mostly cattle country and they raise hay and grain here too. No smog and you're able to hear the birdies sing. All the best to all of you, Gayle-in-the-Boonies
