ROLL CALL - AND A QUESTION :)

Hi,

I'm Ilene in SW Ohio.

For the most part, we've had unseasonably mild weather....yesterday was

mid-50's and we had rain with thunder-and-lightning! Just today, though,

it's starting to get cold.....in the 20's and low 30's....

One of my favorite cold-weather soups is not-real-chicken soup and matzoh

balls, with lots of veggies, some noodles, and tofu chunks. It's a hearty

soup and really warming and filling.

My best to everyone for a wonderful holiday season!

Present.

I am newly moved to Miami (Florida) from norhtern Indiana, so I am not

sure what will constitute my favorite cold-weather food down here. Up

north, I loved to have rasam, idlis, and chutney.

Lunch today is leftover brown rice, green beens, chickpeas, and almonds

with citrus dressing. I am stull mulling over what to make for dinner.

Punpkin curry? Yasai yaki soba? Decisions, desicions.

I'm still here, though I've been reading rather than contributing...

My favorite cold weather foods are baked or roasted winter vegetables!

Baked sweet potatoes, baked potatoes...roasted winter squash with onion.

And potato soup, of course.

Amber from Cincinnati, where the weather hasn't been too unbearably

frightful...until today. It's now bitter cold and they are calling for

potential chance of some snow tonight. Since it has gotten cold I

have been a soup and chili fanatic the last week or so. Yesterday,

was minestrone (yum yum) for lunch and potato soup for dinner. Today

it's back to work and every work day I have a delicious salad with as

many kinds of vegetables I can cram in, tonight...it's pasta with a

creamy broccoli, tomato, garlic sauce.

Hi,

It's Paula in Toronto. It's cold here so I'm thinking of making soup tonight. I

just signed up for a Good Food Box and received Kale on Thursday. I love Kale in

soup so that's probably what I am going to make.

On another note, I've been taking veg. cooking classes. I've been veg a long

time but needed an infusion of new ideas! One of the classes is on tofu (we made

an awesome vegan chocolate mousse - so good) the other is Veg. Culinary Arts I.

If I can dig myself out of the work that is piling up I'll post some recipes

after I try them at home.

So far, my favorite cold weather food is my sweeet/mild vegetarian

chili. For lunch, I had a half of a boca burger from Burger King -

which, I guess I should appreciate, but it's just not that great.

Hi. Checking in from Nashville, TN. One of my favorite

cold-weather foods (Yes, it does get cold down here)

is vegetarian chili, which I'm going to make a big

batch of for an office Christmas party next week.
