checking in from the Coast of Oregon

Nasty storm we just came through this past week, lots of devastation on

the Oregon Coast, we are still mopping up. While we were out of power

I used our wood stove to heat chili with extra beans, it was so good to

get warmed up with Chili. I put fennel seed in it, some people do not

like this way but it stops the gas from being so bad. Chili is such

good warmer upper food. Many people are still out of power and do not

have phone service, I'm one of the few who has internet because I know

how to tweak it. It's only coming in at about 50% power the bandwidth

is compromised but it's working so I cannot complain. It will be at

least another week until people are up and running again. This storm

sure brought the community together, lots of shelters to go to for hot

food. Amazing how that works, wouldn't it be great if everyone was

this way all the time. Blessings and love to all.

Thanks so much for checking in, Micki, and

letting us know that you are okay - AND coping

with the important things in life (like putting

fennel seeds into the chili - I've never done

that and must try it!). Chili from a wood-burning

stove? Shades of my childhood!
