Guest guest
Hi Pat, You are a treasure. I have just looked at both of these links (and of course I couldn't help myself from following some more links from these sites!!). I think the cabbage one looks like my best starting point and I'll definitely let you know how I get on - complete with photos. On Christmas day we always have a selection of roast vegetables (potatoes, onions, carrots, butternut squash], parsnips, sweet potatoes) together with peas and either a veggie slice or a stuffed pepper. I have so many vegetables in the fridge that I can't start planning any new recipes until I have used everything I have on hand but as soon as that happens I am definitely planning to try the kievs. Hans and I actually have our Christmas 'dinner' as a brunch because we always go out in the afternoon. We go to a family gathering at Hans' uncle and aunt's home as his uncle's birthday is 25th December. This year things will be a bit different. Henk (Hans' uncle) broke his hip a few weeks ago and is still in a rehabilitation hospital. He is allowed a day at 'home' tomorrow as a joint Christmas/birthday treat but not at his own home. There are some steps to climb to get to his unit and he still isn't coping too well with stairs so the celebrations have been transferred to the home of his daughter and son-in-law. I haven't seen the family since before my most recent trip to London so it will be lovely catching up with them again. It's only a small group - Henk and Henny (Hans' aunt and uncle), Frank (their son) and Iris and Onno (their daughter and son-in-law) as well and Hans and me. Knowing me I will again disgrace myself and fall asleep half way through the festivities. I have done it two years in a row now and I guess it's sort of expected of me!! Thanks again for the great links. I'm sure there are lots more, but I too was having trouble getting them to come up. What is it with these things anyway LOL > - complete with > photos. Oh oh - remember, this group is not set to receive attachments/photos, so you can't send them here. Sorry about that Hey, gotta run and get the pan off the stove before we have charcoal for dinner! Take care - enjoy tomorrow big time! And I look forward to hearing about your culinary adventures!!!! Hugs and lots of love, Pat ---- Dr Patricia M.
