Guest guest
Have you tried Lightlife items? They make Smart Dogs, Smart Deli, Smart Bacon, etc. They have a certified vegan stamp on them. I think they're distributed pretty widely. I get them at Giant in MD. Any food co-ops or organic stores where you live? They are also good bets for find vegan products. - supremedream44224 Friday, July 09, 2004 8:03 PM Any suggestions? I'm new to the Vegan diet and would appreciate any suggestions for buying products like Morningstar Farms products. Only I read on the packaging that they are not vegan, containing egg products. At least where I buy my groceries they carry few vegag items. They seems to have lots of " vegetarian " items, though not vegan per se. Help! Guest guest
Hi Janie, I'm not a nutritionist but I know that greens can do a lot of good with imbalances... I tend to go 1/3 sweet fruits, 1/3 greens and 1/3 of the rest (nuts, non sweet fruits like cucumbers, tomatoes, pepper). Not necesseraly at each meal but more on a daily basis. So if I eat only fruits in the morning and lunch, I will have a lot of greens and others at night (like a big salad with veggies and few nuts or flax seeds) When I applied that ratio, my health increased a lot. I had very big " lows " before that. Hope it can help you Anne-Marie -- In rawfood , " bentsmom " <bentsmom wrote: > > rawfood , " bentsmom " <bentsmom@> wrote: > > > > I've been eating raw for about 10 months now. Guest guest
You might be getting too much sugar. Sugar, even in its natural state like fruit, can cause A LOT of problems for people. Bananas contain a ton of sugar. You might want to try switching to low sugar, low glycemic fruits for a while such as berries. I suffered from anxiety for years and when I gave up sugar and high sugar fruits, it went away within days. At Hippocrates Health Institute, which has thousands of disease-reversals under it's belt using living foods, sugar - even all fruit sugar - is restricted severely. Guest guest
I am going to visit my sister in Maryland this weekend. In order to save some money I thought we could eat a home for a few meals; however my sister and her friends are not veggies. Any suggestions of meals I can prepare without scaring them...and perhaps are somewhat easy to throw together? Thanks, Julie

Guest guest
I always think pasta goes down pretty well and doesn't frighten the horses. You can always cheat on the sauce and buy a ready-made one, then add whatever else you like to it. Check our Italian Main Dishes and Sides folder. Also, chili is always a hit, don't you think? You can make that as simple as you like. If you want to make bean burritos, that could be a hit too. Check our Mexican Main Dishes and Sides folder for all those things. Otherwise, how about a nice stir-fry? You can make it pretty fancy even using frozen stir-fry veggies (which I'd not normally recommend but you need it easy and you don't know what she might have in the fridge or cupboard) with some extra chinese veggies (yup, use the cans for simplicity if you're cooking on holiday in someone else's kitchen) such as baby corn, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots. Even use a bottled/jarred asian cooking sauce to give it the flavour you want. Or there's mac and cheese.
