I'm not sure what a diet for low blood sugars would be, but I am pretty sure that one thing would be helpful: instead of eating three meals a day, eat five or six and make them smaller meals. Try eating something - even if it's just something small - every two or three hours. I will do some reading when I get back from chores to see what I can learn about low blood sugars. Welcome to the group! Sparrow
Guest guest
Thanks for writing in - you joined some time ago, I recall, but have been 'hiding' for a bit, right? Nice to hear from you again! You say you - > need recipes that r not hard on blood > sugars..mine has been so out of control but > mostly i have been too low > sick much I presume you are referring to some kind of hypoglycaemia - but you don't say whether it is because of taking medicines for diabetes or whether it 'just happens' or what Whichever it is, please understand that this isn't a health group or medical advice group, but a group for vegetarians and vegans to exchange recipes with a spicy theme. With your medical problem you would really need to consult a healthcare practitioner and/or a qualified nutritionist. Meanwhile, there are groups on (and elsewhere) that do indeed discuss these specialized problems. There are diabetic groups which also deal with pre-diabetes, hypoglycaemia, metabolic syndrome etc. etc. Some of those, I know, exchange recipes. There are several of these, but as a vegetarian you might be interested in the following: http://health.MastercookForDiabetics/ http://health.Vegetarian_Diabetics/ http://health.DiabeticVegChat/ (although begun as a sister group of Vegetarian Spice, this last group looks to be fading fast) Without knowing more about them than their descriptions indicate (and noting that they would seem to be active groups) these are two groups that address hypoglycaemia specifically, but they are NOT vegetarian groups: http://health.hypo/ http://health.reactivehypo/ However, I see that you are asking not so much for advice about how to resolve a low blood sugar attack but for *recipes*. Perhaps there are members of this group who have a problem similar to yours who could point you towards their favourite vegetarian recipes. Failing that, I have to say that diets for specific medical problems are not the brief of this group. If there's some specific recipe or food type that you would like to have help with, I'll do my level best to help out - I promise. Best of luck!
