Guest guest
I guess I am much luckier than I thought. It seems on a search over the Internet I found one of the products I use a lot only here in Baton Rouge. Surprise of all surprises. This one is really one of my favorites. It is great shredded on sandwiches with BBQ sauce. Or in a tomato stir-fry. VegeUSA JP makes some great products and Vinh Phat Oriental Market has more in the store. This one can be ordered online from their store. Since I have never had to order form them I can;t say how that all works, but they are very good in person. http://tinyurl.com/26ckzy (http://vinhphatmarket.com/product_info.php?manufacturers_id= 85 & products_id=242 & osCsid=26ded189d006cab2f967005789 18210b) Another store I am able to buy a lot of unusual foods at is a Middle Eastern store A-Z International. Since they sell to Muslims, Indians and Northern Africans they have a lot of great things for me. My advice to anybody wishing to find foodstuff which has suitability is to see if there are any similar stores near them. Since the owner of Vinh Phat ordered more foods for me after asking I would say it would not hurt to ask for product specifically for vegan or vegetarians. Another dried food Vinh Phat has is yuba sold as Sinbo Vegeterian Protein Sticks. That is the skin that results when the beans are processed into milk. Another left over product are the soy grits called okara, from the beans. They are great in bread, cornbread or mixed into loaf dishes. Although it is estimated only fifty grams of protein are needed daily it helps to be aware of extra products for those willing to expand their choices. Another awesome food is powdered spirulina. Although it smells like pond scum it taste pretty good and has a lot of nutrients. So much so that organizations are supporting its use around the globe to feed people. Wheat germ, wheat berries, cracked wheat whole grain wheat, even the varieties like rye and spelt can be cooked and eaten in salads or in on fashion or another made into burgers. Crowder peas are noted to have a high amount of protein and along with milled amaranth or millet can be used in patties. Quinoa also works well to use that way or does well in chopped salads. Along with nuts these grains and seeds with some knowledge creativity can be used to make many dishes. It just takes some experience to see how they all work together. Anyway I was looking to see what else I might mention on the list for anyone who wants to expend their healthy diet. If I see something else I will post it.
