Guest guest
Im a transitioning vegetarian. I dont think I will ever go vegan cause it just seems too complicated. However, I started this venture about a year ago with just swearing off red meet. Poultry and pesci were still in occassionally cause my husband is a true carnivore and I thought being total vegetarian would be too hard. Well after about a year, I got tired of the remarks, so I quietly transitoned to no meet at all, its been several months. I am frankly not attracted to it at all, never was much anyhow. Had it not been for my husbands dietary requests (and he is paying the bills after all) Id have given it up a long time ago. So I still prepare SAD for him, but Im getting more and more vegge entrees in there. Lasagna, cabbage rolls, quiche. But quite often I prepare completly different meals for myself, like no-meet loaf. Im a native Arizonan, yes actually born here, I live in metro phoenix area in the East Valley. I hate the city, love the country. I grow a garden (just planted my " summer " garden last weekend, it will be burnt to a crisp by July4th)and we have a daughter, who is six. No pets to speak of, a kid is more than enough for me. We have a popup camper and a fishing boat, dont worry we dont actually catch any fish, much to my husbands dispair. I would like to learn how to wakeboard (which is like water skiing but on a surfboard thingy) I love camping, and swiming in rivers and lakes. I love the gulf of Mexico beach too, we go to Rocky Pt., about 5hrs away. In fact Im pretty happy around water, so why am I in the desert?! But I like it here, the climate is nice, the heat is brutal, the winters at temperate, and humidity is a rarity. Well my main reason for being vegetarian is to conserve resources. The economy is going to crp, gas is expensive, water is a huge concern here, as well as power which is largely dependent on the water. In fact, I guess what did it for me was to learn how much waste of resources it is to grow meet. It sickens me. So Im just one person doing what I can for clean water for the future. Amen.
