Uncheese

While we're discussing the subject of cheese, has anyone tried Veggie Slices?

It comes in a wide variety of flavors. I have used it on sandwiches and

melted it on corn tortillas and it tastes and melts fairly decently.

I recently purchaced THE ULTIMATE UNCHEESE COOKBOOK by Joanne Stepaniak. I

haven't made too many of the " uncheeses " yet but what I have made has been

great! So much better than any fake cheese on the market.

I must try one or two of those again Of

course, there are those who love her recipes and

those who don't - just as it is with the

commercial faux cheeses - no accounting for

taste! And, er, sometimes it's more convenient to

pick up a pack of the commercial stuff, you know?

One isn't always in the kitchen making stuff

*shrug*

That is a great book.  When I first became vegan, that was the book that

allowed me to give up dairy.    At that time I could not imagine going

without cheese.

OK OK OK *lol* I give in *lol* You guys outnumber

me. I'll get the book - because my dh and I have

really really enjoyed the Sheese that we got -

still enjoying it, in fact, both the blue cheese

flavour and the strong cheddar flavour (neither

of us liked mozzarella or cheese with 'things' in

it so not looking to the rest of the Sheese

offerings). Soooooo, if the Stepaniak recipes

produce even _better_ cheez, well I have to try

them!
