Guest guest
Researchers have discovered that turmeric combined with certain kinds of vegetables (cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli etc.) could be beneficial to men's health. This recipe was intended to utilize this discovery, I used cabbage but any of the other vegetables would do (don't know about brussels sprouts, though). Ingredients: 250 gram (1/2 lb) tofu cooking oil 1/2 medium size green cabbage 2 cloves garlic 5 spring onions 2 tsp turmeric 2 tsp sambal oelek (chilli paste) for moderately spicy dish, add more or less if different hotness required 4 tsp ketjap asin (Indonesian salty soy sauce) 1 large tomato water Wash the tofu and slice into 5 cm (2 " ) wide strips. Fry in cooking oil until light brown. Allow to cool. Cut the cabbage into fine shreds and slice the tomato thinly. Cut the garlic and spring onions into small pieces and fry in cooking oil. Add the tomato, spices, cabbage and enough water to cover. Cook for 5 mins then add the tofu. Simmer for 20 mins, stirring occasionally. Serve with rice and/or boiled potatoes. Serves 4 persons.
