Guest guest
Hi all! My name is Jamie. I'm 22 and I live in North Central Florida. I am in the midst of transitioning to a predominantly vegetarian diet (though plan to keep seafood in my diet for now). Lets see a bit about me, I have recently had to deal with food allergies, mostly related to cheese, white flours, and my body is not handling dark meats well anymore which is part of why I'm transitioning. I also have taken a turn towards a more local eating/organic lifestyle, as I find it to be much healthier for me and my environment. I've been dating the same guy for 2 years and counting and he is fully supportive of everything I do. We have one dog, and two horses, and one fish. We are planning a move soon and when we do we'd like to add another two dogs (a hound and a pitt bull his mother has that I love) and a flock of free roam layers. Ummm I like to ride horses, paint, read, write, work out, do yoga, swim, walk, hike, take pictures, all kinds of things really. Anything else you want to know, feel free to ask. Thanks for listening! Hopefully I can learn a lot here.
Guest guest
Welcome, Jamie! Well congratulations on trying to move towards a vegetarian way of eating - it's so good for you as well as good for the animals and for the planet - and increasingly is seen as helping the problem of world hunger. As for the sea'food' - well, that's the nature of transition, isn't it, to be still hanging on to some aspects of the old ways at the same time as moving towards the new Baby steps. More organic and local produce really makes a difference too, doesn't it! > Ummm I like to ride horses, paint, read, write, > work out, do > yoga, swim, walk, hike, take pictures, all kinds of things > really. Sounds like you have a full and varied life - good for you. Well, I hope you enjoy our varied recipes on this group - from all over the world, from so many traditional eating patterns. If you need to know anything - or have trouble finding things in our Files (access via the homepage) just ask. We love to help! I'll look forward to chatting with you more! Guest guest
Pat! Thank you for the warm welcome. I do see it as taking baby steps and am really enjoying the learning process as well. I try to stay really active, I hate sitting still for long! I hope that I can learn a great deal from everyone here, and enjoy sharing recipes. I love to test things, and try my own variations of recipes, so I'll probably add my own in at some point Thanks! jamie , Pat <drpatsant wrote: > > Welcome, Jamie! > > Well congratulations on trying to move towards a vegetarian way of eating - it's so good for you as well as good for the animals and for the planet - and increasingly is seen as helping the problem of world hunger. I never seem to leave a recipe alone - keep tweaking it and teasing it, even if it was 'perfect' to start off with LOL I'll look forward to chatting to you more.
