Hi Everyone-

I've been extremely derelict in my duties here, leaving my usual meet and greet

duties on this group to Marie for some weeks now. I do apologize for not having

welcomed the new members. Please accept this as my VERY warm welcome to the

group and let me say that I hope to be able to chat with each of you on the

group from now on :)

So from where am I back? Good question! My dh and I spent 10 days in Paris last

month - and yes, thanks, it was indeed lovely! We hadn't been there in some time

and we were delighted to rediscover it. Magical holiday. And yes, the weather

held except for about a day and a half of rain. Next spring? Well, Paris again,

we swear!

Shortly after returning, however, our older beagle became ill again (so many

things wrong with that little girl I couldn't begin to list them all) and

finally a little over a week ago we had to say goodbye to her. It has been very

hard. Further, our little cat got into a gift of flowers before I could register

the danger that they held and move them (grief does that sometimes, sad to say),

and he had to be treated for lily poisoning - was in Intensive Care at our vet

hospital - but is well now. (I mention this because it is such a danger to

kittens and cats, and I know many of you have them as loved companions.)

Meanwhile, my cooking skills, such as they were, have deteriorated along with my

imagination, so I am delighted to be reading your posts again! Keep those ideas

and recipes coming!!!!!

Thank, everyone, for your patience.

Love and hugs, Pat (Co-owner, Vegetarian Spice)

Hi Pat,

I'm so sorry about your beloved Beagle. Our dogs are special to us,

and the only bad thing about having animal companions is the short

time they are with us and the terrible sadness that surrounds us when

they have to leave us.

I'm soo glad your kitty is well now. Please don't blame yourself...

these things happen even to the most diligent of us! I didn't know

that Lily's were poisonous for cats, so thanks for sharing that knowledge!

Thank you so much, Carol. Your taking the time and trouble to write

means a lot to me - so many people think 'it's just a dog' but you

know that those of us who love our companion animals cherish their

lives immeasurably. Our little cat is doing well - quite back to his

old self :) which means yowling for food 24/7.and being up to a

zillion kinds of mischief.

As for the dangerous plants, some are so much more dangerous than

others. I just thought I'd give a heads-up to everyone, just in case.

Thanks agaain, hon.

Love and special hugs, Pat
