>For instance a b12 deficiency takes about a year to show up in a blood test.

Just a note: They (whoever 'they' are) say that we all have enough B12 in our

systems _before_ going vegan to last us about three years _after_ we become

vegan. So don't panic about this straight away, okay? Some take supplements,

some find B12 in foods, and some do both.

You may want to go to our Links section to check food and nutrition - the

various vegetarian societies provide information too, and some of their links

are also there. Meanwhile, since this email is about B12 I offer you this link

out of that lot - to get you started:

" Reliable Vegan Sources of Vitamin B12 "

http://www.vrg.org/nutrition/b12.htm#reliable

It's pretty sane :) Good luck. (Btw, I'm one of those who now does food AND

supplements.)

Love and hugs, Pat
