Guest guest
Hi Kate, Becki and All I admire your strength, Kate - I dunno what I'd have done if my dh had resisted my vegetarianism Probably tried to convert him by stealth, I suppose LOL But it's easy for us because we can both cook and both enjoy cooking. With your older kids, too, it's great that they are not helpless in the kitchen. Whether veggie or omnivore I figure everyone is doing their kids a big service by teaching them how to prepare a meal for themselves as early as possible. (It's like trying to teach your cat how to use a can opener at first, I guess but they - the kids I mean - catch on after a while!) Starting with pb sandwiches, even the youngest can quickly learn how to do that for themselves and feel creative doing it, eh? A note, however: we all have different reasons for being veg*n - with me it's for the animals, but some are here for health or the environment or world hunger or perhaps religious reasons or a mix of all that and something else too. Different tactics, perhaps, for different causes? As for Becki, well at least one of those kidz is young yet - a while to go before making seitan tu*key roast or whatever! Baby steps, Becki I figure that we all find our own way, and we do what's best for us and for our families. Hang in there, Becky! It gets easier after a while and I will bet that as soon as you find out how to make yummy veg recipes you'll have the family drooling for them! Let's hear from others - it all helps us and gives us ideas how to advise others too! Love and hugs, Pat
