Guest guest
The following post was sent to me personally by mistake, it clearly being intended for the group. The address for the group is as follows: Anyway, Iberia has a query about paneer and I am hoping that someone who knows about it from good experience can explain it to her. It is a long time since I have had it myself, not since being vegan anyway LOL, that I don't feel qualified! > Hello, > How are you? I LOVE INDIAN FOOD!!!!!!!! > I have a couple of questions. Guest guest
In a quick answer yes. Paneer is made by taking whole milk and boiling it and then you have add lemon-juice to " make it sour " ....i.e. it breaks the milk into curds and whey. The entire " curds and whey " are passed through a cheesecloth. After you drain the cheese for you take the dried stuff out and put it in a shallow tray (like a 1 " lip tray) and then put another tray on top of it (put cans on top of it to make it a solid piece). Cut into 1 " cubes, and you are done. I'm pretty sure that's correct, but perhaps others will correct the methodology. -parag On Sun, Jun 29, 2008 at 17:50, drpatsant <drpatsant wrote: > > The following post was sent to me personally by mistake, it clearly being > intended for the group. Guest guest
Hi, Making Paneer, Parad has shown quick way, if you don't want to use the milk product then another alternative is to us firm tofu amd making small pieces and lightly stir fry on pan until it becomes light brown then use those cube to cook with potatoes, green peas, speench, lentil, egg plants and other vegetable of your choice with spice or without spices. Spices will add some taste to tofu. Good Lick --- On Sun, 6/29/08, Parag B. Shah <paragbshah wrote: Parag B. Shah <paragbshah Re: Fw: Hello! Guest guest
Belated thanks to Parag B Shah and to Lalit Pansar for the two versions of Paneer, both of which are now in the Files! Love and hugs, Pat
