Guest guest
Welcome to all new members. Those who have sent in introductions have our special thanks - it really is nice to get to know you! Forgive a joint welcome, but here are some personal responses from me: bunmomsue: Congrats on going veggie 'cold tofu' No reason to feel tired and weak, unless you're not eating a good variety of several kinds of vegetables and fruits. Colour is the key: as many colours as possible really really helps. Also, remember that you can get really good energy from beans and lentils Miss Nelson/meaningful outcomes: dunno if you are already vegetarian since you don't say, but in any case it's good to have you here and we lookforward to hearing more from you. Lotsa recipes in our Files (access from the homepage). Rob/placidazure: Congrats on being a new vegan - a huge step all at one time from an omnivore lifestyle I totally support you on this, being vegan myself. There are lots of vegetarians here as well as vegans, also some omnivores who are trying to improve their health. Ask any questions you like- we like to help! Good luck!!! VMann/thehatefulnerd: Nice to have you here! It's okay that you're not vegetarian - lots of non-veggies here! - but remember not to discuss non-veggie eating in your posts, okay? (Had to say that LOL) No need for anyone to feel hungry as a vegetarian - but there's no reason for anyone, veggie or omni, to feel 'stuffed to the gills' after a meal - not a comfortable feeling. There are lots of recipes in our Files for you to look over too! Best, Pat (Co-owner with Maria and Piers)
Guest guest
Hi, my name is Rebecca, I am trying to become vegetarian, I have not eaten beef for 5 months, at first I felt the same as some of you say tired and hungry, I felt I was eating junk food to fill me. Sorry , then I would buy meat, thinking heck with this and I could not bring myself to eat it, matter of fact the smell of meat now makes me sick to my stomach, the though of bloody dead animal. i have eaten pepperoni on pizza, maybe once in 6 months. I have lots of good recipes. I feel good now, it took about 6 months, I do eats cheese and eggs, and only drink organic milk or rice dreams, I eat lots of beans very filling and lots of fiber, eat lots of fruits, I make tons of smoothies, like banana with strawberry add flax seed and yogurt anything you want, yummy and filling. --- On Wed, 8/13/08, drpatsant <drpatsant wrote: drpatsant <drpatsant More new members - some replies to your introductions! Guest guest
I am not a vegetarian fully, but I am slowly working on a full transition.. I did some research and wanted to make sure that once I turn away from meat, I did not want to go back. Looking through the recipes is helpful because with school starting soon, I will be able to have different things each night for dinner that I can take to work as leftovers for lunch. Yummy!
