Guest guest
No, all vegetarians are not born vegetarians. Some of them grew up liking animals and not being able to stand their deaths thus they chose to be vegetarian or vegan. Or some had other events in life that caused them to choose to be. Yes, I do believe some people are just born to have that tendency. But not all. You should not leave because if nothing else you have a desire to eat more vegetables and grains. Even if you do not eat any less meat you are wanting to eat more vegetables and grains and to learn how to cook them and enjoy them. I started reading the original post of thiese threads and I too was cranky that day but, I waited to absorb what was said before making any comments that would offend the vast differences of this group because even though (as Pat stated) I would still be considered vegetarian, I do not eat meat or by products of dead animals or eggs but I do eat cheese and ice cream and drink some milk. Even me as a vegetarian found the original posting angering and had a lot of things I wanted to comment on but....I chose to not be rash since I was cranky that day. I am off now to serve alcohol to a large crowd of people and listen to loud music and compare tattoos (I did get my new one) with a bunch of leather wearing bikers. I do hope you stay and enjoy adding new and healthfully yummy recipes to your collection. Jenn >> Maybe I should leave also. I am just a vegetarian wanna be. Guest guest
Jenn, with all due respect your last paragraph was unnecessary taunting a group of people who you know are sensitive about the well being of animals. I think it is great your moving in the direction of giving up animal products, as am I. I dont eat meat I am giving up eggs and will soon start heading in the direction of going vegan. I do understand the need to have a some clarificatins in our community at least to make things clear when we go out to dinner somewhere. And if does help those that serve us or we meet up with for get togethers. I dont want to find out half way through my vegetable soup that it was made with chicken broth. But because too many try to redefine the concepts it makes it difficult for others to know what we are asking for. I see nothing wrong with specific words, clearly defining them and then asking folks to try to follow that path or change whatever label they are eating under. That helps all of us. Lastly the vast majority of people who do follow this lifestyle do tend to do so for the reason of stopping animal cruelty, so to a point you need to understand that and not try to flame a group with comments about leather wearing bikers. Frankly that is the only reason why you would throw that out there. Susie No, all vegetarians are not born vegetarians.
