Welcome, Rebecca I see you have been veggie for quite a while now, so you

should really know your way around! As for going vegan, that's not as tricky as

you think. It's a long time since I was a student (I'm in my late 60s) but I

managed to go veggie (finally!) around the turn of this last century after a

couple of decades of various forms of vegetarianism - and did it without much

shock to the system after all! You will find it a breeze.

 

Vegan food doesn't have to cost much - unless of course you feel dedicated to

the idea of fake me*t and fake cheez (and even those don't cost a bomb). It's

just a matter of reading the labels (if you buy processed stuff) and otherwise

turning to a more healthy way of eating. Anyway, I'm sure you will have looked

through our files and will have considered, in addition, the many cultures which

eschew me*t as well as eggs and in many cases dairy. Lots of good ideas there!

 

Ask anything you need to know - we love to help - and write in often. Remember,

spice is what makes great veg and vegan food even greater! I love my hot and

spicy meals!!!!

Hi Pat,

 

Thanks for the kind words and advice.  Sorry for the delay in replying.  I love

cooking and can't wait to try out the recipes discussed in this group, they all

look so yummy.  I am finding the questions and advice very interesting, ta very
