Guest guest
You may remember a new member recently introduced herself and asked about tempeh. I find it invaluable in a meat-free household (or for a meat-free plate) - and a lot of people would like to have ideas of how best to use it. Please will you send us, as a help to us all, your favourite TEMPEH RECIPES (tried-n-true) - including, if you don't work much from actual formal recipes, your favourite way of using tempeh in your cooking. All suggestions, ideas, tips, will, I am sure, be appreciated by all of us! Guest guest
" Authentic " tempeh recipes are mostly Indonesian, since that's where the technology of producing tempeh evolved. (I have seen Japanese-made tempeh in Japanese markets, but rarely -- it's not used nearly as much as tofu is in Japan). But many of the Indonesian tempeh recipes I've seen are not vegetarian -- tempeh is just used as one ingredient among others, like a custard using ripe tempeh and egg and other ingredients. The tempeh I've seen in the U.S. made from soybeans and a grain. In Indonesia, tempeh is sometimes made from other legumes as well, though soybeans are the most common. jrfm drpatsant wrote: > > You may remember a new member recently introduced herself and asked > about tempeh.
