Guest guest
Hi Steve,  It's great to know you have discovered a whole new way of cooking and eating. Congratulations on your new way of life.  I couldn't agree with you more about not missing meat on the plate. In fact, for people who are used to eating meat, I think their options, are in many ways, more limited than that of vegetarians and vegans.  Carnivores so often base their meals on the old meat and 3 veg idea yet it is the vegetable component of meals which adds so much variation in colour, taste and texture. Of course we have the faux meat products to fall back on if we do fancy a more 'traditional' looking meal but we can also be creative in so many ways.  The range of delicious, colourful and nutritious vegetarian and vegan meals is almost endless. There are so many wonderful soups, stir-fries, oven dishes, ethnic dishes (including the Indian ones you mentioned) etc that we are never likely to be short of ideas.  I'm not sure if you have discovered the group's recipe files yet but we have a file with over 90 recipes form India/Sri Lanka. I'm sure you'll find plenty here which will appeal to you.  %20%2A%20%2A%20INDIAN%20AND%\ 20SRI%20LANKAN%20STYLE%20DISHES/  Cheers from Marie  --- On Sun, 26/10/08, Steve Owens <mysticreporterr wrote: Steve Owens <mysticreporterr Re: I'm a new Vegan and I'm hungry all the time...help? Sunday, 26 October, 2008, 10:30 PM Hi, I am new to vegetarianism, about 6 months ago. I started off eating Indian recepies because most of my indian friends have been vegtarian all their lives. They never seemed hungry and I never walked out of an indian resturaunt hungry. When I discovered an Indian grocery store in my town I started cooking indian food for myself. ..
