Guest guest
Whoops sorry, Rain - no you didn't say that you weren't vegetarian of course. I must have had a slip of the entire brain as I was reading your post So tell us about being vegetarian? I first went vegetarian around 1980-81 or so (can't quite recall) but had a few slips and tumbles off the veggie wagon from time to time. My dh and I became vegan around the turn of this last century. (That was a more deliberate decision.) Indian food is our favourite, although Thai and Indonesian fight for second place I used to make a lot of Chinese dishes too, but now only the spicier ones. Love that spice! Let's hear lots from you, okay? Nice to have the excuse to chat again!!!! Guest guest
How did you and your husband become vegetarians, Pat? Anyone else want to tell? Rain? I'm not a vegetarian, but a vegetarian wanna-be. Various reasons. Mostly weak - habit - good intentions not enough - like certain flavours. Would love to try a good recipe for some kind of non " meat-pie " for instance. Guest guest
Okay I will talk Kate for me i have read too many articles on how animals were being treated that were being eaten. For me and I know peoples opinons differ but for me I no longer want to be a part of the cruetly that these animals have to deal with. It has been tough but as time goes on it gets easier, do i sometimes fall off? Yea but very seldom and it happens less and less with time and being connected to folks for new ideas really helps. susie 'Do what thou wilt, but harm none'. Guest guest
I know, Susie, the longer one looks at articles, videos, etc., about cruelty to animals the surer one is that one cannot eat me*t again - well, works for me anyway Of course, even non-food animals experience cruelty at the hands of human animals, but I can't imagine any vegetarian mistreating any living creature. Guest guest
Some of the animals that are typically thought of as food only animals really can make wonderful pets or companinon animals. ________________________________ " drpatsant " <drpatsant Monday, January 5, 2009 5:31:56 PM Re: Re: new member - Rain I know, Susie, the longer one looks at articles, videos, etc., about cruelty to animals the surer one is that one cannot eat me*t again - well, works for me anyway Of course, even non-food animals experience cruelty at the hands of human animals, but I can't imagine any vegetarian mistreating any living creature.
