Guest guest
> Some of the animals that are typically thought of as food only animals really can make wonderful pets or companinon animals. True - I'm told that rescued chickens are clever and affectionate and rescued pot-bellied pigs make great house pets, for example. Of course, all animals are 'exploited' in a way because we have either taken them out of their natural environment and/or domesticated them so that they are reliant on us. Some cannot be sent into the wild at this stage. In a perfect world there's be no 'pets' I guess. Meanwhile, what many of us do is to commit ourselves to making the lives of rescued animals as happy and comfortable as possible, whether it's a cat or a cow. As for 'food' animals - I do so wish that term would die a quick and painless death. Animals are not food. Good for you - well all of you - for caring Love and hugs, Pat --- http://beanvegan.blogspot.com http://www.vegandonelight.com/spice " The world is a stage, but the play is badly cast.
